Please, NO SPOILERS in the comments!
I haven't actually watched the movie yet :saddummy:

Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians, in MiniKins chibi form!

This cute depiction of Jack Frost is handmade in polymer clay over wire and tinfoil.
With painstaking attention to detail, each tiny feature was faithfully included on this pint-sized figure - torn pants with wrapped bands, hoody with pocket and drawstrings, carefully layered hair - even the seams on his clothes have been etched in! The frost patterns were delicately painted and he has handpainted blue eyes.
His staff is handmade and painted as well. Using pearl clays and dusting the whole figure with Pearl-Ex powders has resulted in a lovely subtle sparkle. Everything has been sealed with gloss varnish for a beautiful and durable finish.
He is 8.5 cm (3.5") high.

This is a completely one-of-a-kind handmade sculpture. :iconsantalaplz:

This is one of your best I think. The hair is just so well done and the eyes are beautiful.

I have not seen the movie but I've seen lots of images of Jack. You caught him perfectly and I think he's adorable as a Minikin. The hoodie details must have taken ages.

I see that you varnish your figures. Is that a normal technique when using polymer?

I finally got to see the movie a couple of weeks ago. It's pretty awesome! You should totally watch it when you can. Jack's a great character.

I'm really glad you like it :happybounce: The hoodie was the most difficult part, especially finding a good way to do the hood itself. I think I could have done the painted details better - my hands are so shaky it's hard to get clean lines sometimes ^^;

Varnishing is pretty common on polymer clay figures. You can leave them unvarnished and I did this for my first sculptures but after I tried it out I really prefer the look of the varnish. It also means the acrylic paint won't get scratched or wash off accidentally or have the Pearl-Ex rub of so it's important to use on painted or Pearl-Ex'ed figures. There is special polymer clay varnish sold, or you can use one of a few brands of water based varnish that is safe to use. I use the Sculpey brand varnish.
